ROBBINSVILLE The NJSIAA took what executive director Steve Timko called one of its most "proactive" steps to remedy the divide between public and non-public schools Wednesday when a combined committee met for the first time to discuss the issue.

"It's a big task," said Michael Zapicchi, president of the NJSIAA executive committee and a co-chair of the public-non-public committee. "We're going to put our faith in the process and see what happens."
