Three state lawmakers urged Bergen County Executive Dennis McNerney and the Board of Freeholders on Friday not to close down the only free clinic for HIV testing in the county.
In a letter to McNerney and the freeholders, state Sen. Loretta Weinberg, D-Teaneck, and Assembly members Valerie Huttle and Gordon Johnson of Englewood questioned why the county would close the Bergen County Counseling Center in Hackensack, especially because doing so could jeopardize federal funding that currently goes to HIV programs throughout Bergen and Passaic counties.See the full content of this document
