KINNELON The borough appears on the verge of again reaching for more than $2 million in grants to preserve the Weber Tract, with the next step being a public hearing Thursday.

Much of the Weber Tract's 168 acres, next to Silas Condict Park, consists of wetlands and steep slopes. Environmentalists worry that development would pollute two trout streams that feed into the Pequannock River.
