SOMERVILLE A Bernards Township woman has been charged with murder, accused of killing her 12-year-old son before trying to take her own life, Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest said Saturday.

Police found 44-year-old Denise Volpicelli, her wrists, ankles and arms slashed, in a basement bathroom of her family's two-story brick home on Friday night, Forrest said.
