IT'S SPRING, time for young athletes to pull out baseball mitts and softball gloves, and tennis rackets, golf clubs and lacrosse sticks. More young people are playing organized sports. More are playing sports year-round, and more compete on two or more teams at a time. More are getting injured.
As Staff Writer Bob Groves reported this week, emergency room doctors in North Jersey are seeing an increase in sports-related injuries among athletes high school age and younger.
