Superior Court Judge Brian Martinotti in Hackensack held the first of nine days of hearings Monday to review the settlements for each of more than 120 children who'll receive nearly $3 million for contamination left in their Ringwood neighborhood, four decades after the borough allowed Ford Motor Co. to dump the toxic waste.

The settlements ranged from $7,000 to $55,000 and differed based on the age and illnesses suffered by the minors.
