WE ARE happy that state legislators have finally found religion when it comes to pension reform. We only wish they had found it before Judgment Day.
The state pension system, as of 2008, was underfunded by $34 billion. Those are not snowplows approaching the State House. They are the four Horsemen of the Fiscal Apocalypse: Waste, Fraud, Abuse and Chris Christie. The new governor has set the tone for change, and the new Democratic leadership in the Legislature is following in kind.See the full content of this document
