N.J. Road Projects Halting On Monday

Summary


All state-funded transportation projects will come to a halt Monday because of a dispute between lawmakers and the state Department of Transportation over funding, officials said Friday.

The Legislature has refused to approve the sale of $1.25 billion of bonds and the refinancing of $500 million more. As a result, 100 construction projects, including the Route 3 Passaic River crossing between Rutherford and Clifton, and another 200 design contracts will stop work Monday, according to a DOT release.
