NEW YORK - Channing Frye would come out and sound like a draft night dream: smart, humble and hungry. There was little risk here, and little upside. The Knicks drafted a good player, and a good citizen. Isiah Thomas didn't shoot for the moon, but played it safe. This was maybe the Knicks' president's finest hour on the job so far.

"If he wants me to stay in the gym, I'll set up a cot and shoot free throws at two in the morning," Frye said at Madison Square Garden. "I like winning. And I think this city needs to start winning."
