The state is investigating whether all of the deer killed during the culling on Garret Mountain have been properly accounted for -- and why so many of the harvested animals were sent to an uncertified butcher.
The Division of Fish and Wildlife said Monday that it was looking into whether all of the deer taken so far from Rifle Camp Park and Garret Mountain Reservation had been tagged. Bow hunters were allowed to harvest up to 150 deer from both Passaic County-owned parks, but unless all of the animals are tagged, the state has no way of knowing how many have been killed.See the full content of this document
