Phil Hughes, who has been on the DL since April 15 because of a "dead" arm, allowed three hits and one run over 3 1/3 innings in his second minor league rehab start.
He pitched for Class AA Trenton at New Britain (Conn.), an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. Hughes threw 72 pitches, 42 for strikes, and topped out at 93 mph on the stadium's radar gun, the Hartford Courant reported.
