ELMWOOD PARK Parents, teachers and staff members at a beloved preschool say they are devastated after learning this week that their decades-old community institution is on the verge of closing.
The Beth-Am Nursery School has cared for children from infants to kindergartners in the basement of the Elmwood Park Jewish Center on Gilbert Avenue for 33 years. But the building's new owner a relocating church has decided not to renew the school's lease at the end of the month, forcing nearly 100 families from the school, as well as 27 staff members.See the full content of this document
