New Jersey's managed-care plans have made good progress in treating asthma in children and controlling cholesterol in heart patients, but the HMOs still lag behind other states in many health quality measurements.
The eighth annual HMO report card for New Jersey ranks plans on data such as cancer screening, childhood immunizations and mental health treatment. Horizon earned the top spot statewide for a second year, and UnitedHealthcare came in last, with below-average scores on 12 out of 20 performance standards.See the full content of this document
