Nets Highlights Few and Far Between at Midpoint

Summary


The Nets are last in the NBA in home attendance, but lead the league in trade rumors. At the midpoint of their season, that's really all the Nets have going for them - the possibility of acquiring Carmelo Anthony. Some players haven't developed as much or as quickly as expected and the Nets' 10-31 record is worse than many anticipated after the changes they made, including the arrival of coach Avery Johnson. The organization is working hard to get Anthony because the Nets realize the best chance to improve and have a playoff-contending team by the time Barclays Center opens in Brooklyn in 2012 is using their trade assets to get a star player. Here's a look at the Nets, who were 3-38 at this juncture last season, at this season's midpoint:

Best win: So few to choose from, but the 96-94 win over Chicago on Jan. 5 was a rare victory against a good team and more impressive was the Nets' lost a big lead late, but played to the end. Sasha Vujacic made the winning basket inside and Devin Harris played strong defense on Derrick Rose on the final play.
