The New Jersey Supreme Court has reprimanded a former Paterson Municipal Court judge for ethics violations that included gross neglect as an attorney and failing to communicate with a client.
In an order from Chief Justice Deborah Poritz last month, Gladys Mendoza-Garbin was castigated after a report by the Disciplinary Review Board found her negligent in representing a client in a divorce. In 2000, Mendoza-Garbin was appointed by former Mayor Martin G. Barnes. She was the first Dominican-American woman to sit as a Municipal Court judge in the state.See the full content of this document
