At noon Saturday, Adam Haar, 15, of West Caldwell, had a fever of 104 degrees. But by Saturday evening, he had put aside his aches and pains to star at the School of Rock in South Hackensack for an audience of more than 200.

"In addition to their self-esteem going up the roof, kids also learn about commitment and responsibility to other people in their band," said Andy Lucibello, co-manager of the school.
