Heavy Rains Force Mud Into Pristine Lake

WEST MILFORD -- Heavy rain in recent days caused soil and debris dug up by the Tennessee Gas Pipeline project to push through containment barriers and wash into a small lake off Clinton Road.

Elaine Buchtman, chairwoman of the Lake Lookover Property Owners Association, said the once-pristine small lake, on the edge of Wawayanda State Park, now is polluted with silt and mud heaped up during digging for the pipeline.
