NORTH HALEDON Seven companies have been awarded contracts totaling $14.8 million for the rebuilding of the K-4 Memorial Elementary School, school Business Administrator Virginia Merlino said.

The bids came in lower than expected, enabling the Board of Education to reserve a 9.5 percent contingency fund of $1.4 million for the project, should unforeseen costs surface, Merlino said.
