Summary


Q. My friend Jane has a 30-year-old son who just got engaged, and the wedding date is several months away. Jane just met the son's fiance, Amy, over the summer and they have spent very little time together. Everyone lives within a 10-mile radius of Jane's house.

Jane left messages for Amy inviting her out for some one-on-one time. Amy ignored the invitation and left a message on Jane's machine informing her that she would like to pay for Jane's "mother of the groom" dress as a gift. This seemed very nice until a week later when Jane received another message from Amy informing her that Amy had picked out four dresses for Jane to choose from at a certain bridal shop!
