BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - After 12 cans of Red Bull energy drink and a 1,300- mile journey, three volunteer firefighters from Haledon pulled their rental truck into a municipal distribution center for Hurricane Katrina relief supplies here Sunday morning.

"How in the world did New Jersey find Mississippi?" joked Mike Cuevas, director of cultural affairs for this Gulf Coast town. She shook everyone's hand. "You're lucky the Mississippi highway patrol didn't catch up to you."
