WOODCLIFF LAKE -- Robert Rosenblatt, long the council's sole antagonist-in-chief, says he has few regrets after narrowly losing Tuesday in his reelection bid. His loss was part of a sweep that will see the council returning to all-Republican hands for the first time since the early 2000s.

It may also mean the end, for now, of the borough's recent history of politics as combat, a style that Republicans on the council say Rosenblatt fostered and one that he sometimes, indeed, seemed to relish in.
