EAST RUTHERFORD - It took exactly seven hours before the Giants made their first selection in Saturday's NFL draft. But if Corey Webster proves to be the player they think he will be, he was well worth the wait.

The team's draft hierarchy said the Louisiana State cornerback would have been a top 15 selection had he made himself available after his junior season. But injuries marred his senior year, and pushed him down the ladder until he remained available when the Giants finally made their second-round pick, No. 43 overall.
