NO serious attempt at health care reform can ignore the national epidemic of obesity. Otherwise, the expense associated with treating obesity-related illnesses will continue to increase, driving up the overall cost of health care.

Diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease caused by obesity are preventable. But reducing the growing incidence of obesity will require dramatic changes in how American families eat, shop for food and exercise.
