Even as Hurricane Rita moved across the Gulf of Mexico, threatening to disrupt oil supplies, gasoline prices continued to edge down in North Jersey.

Just 11 days after Hurricane Katrina sent pump prices to record levels with nearly every station in the region charging over $3 a gallon for regular, the average was down to $2.90 on Wednesday.
