Garbage Collection Cooperative May Grow

Summary


The Bergen County Utilities Authority is trying to expand an 18- town garbage collection cooperative that the authority manages.

The cooperative was created in 2002 to accommodate towns that were using the authority's now-closed transfer station in North Arlington. Authority officials say the towns have been saving an average of $10 for each ton of garbage collected.
