Ford Offering Big Rebates On Pickups

Summary

DETROIT Ford Motor Co. is spending more than any other automaker this month to sell full-size pickup trucks while slashing production to reduce North American inventories.

Ford's U.S. incentives for 2006 F-Series pickups average $5,506 per vehicle and run through Oct. 2, says Autodollars.com, a Web site that tracks rebates. New 2007 models are getting $2,000 in incentives on top of sticker-price cuts on the F-150 of up to $1,400.
