A fire early Friday damaged a Clifton auto body shop and several cars at Lakeview Avenue and East Ninth Street, a fire official said.

A car inside the Fantastic Plastic auto body shop caught fire sometime before 4:30 a.m. The blaze damaged the roof, but firefighters extinguished it in about 30 minutes, said Deputy Chief Kevin Mc-Carthy.
