Another Station's Gas Fails Octane Test [Corrected 06/12/08] ; 2 Owned by Same Man, Face Summonses

Summary

The owner of a Hackensack service station who was accused this week of selling lower octane fuel at premium prices was doing the same thing at a station he owns in Teaneck, officials said Thursday.

The stations, at 350 River St. in Hackensack and 1261 Teaneck Road in Teaneck, will be issued eight summonses today, each of which carries a maximum fine of $1,500, said Mabel Aragon, a Bergen County spokeswoman. Six of the summonses were for violations at the Hackensack station, and two were for discrepancies in octane levels that were discovered at the Teaneck station.
