Richie Adubato led the Liberty to three WNBA Finals appearances in his first five seasons in the league, but a recent stretch of eight losses in nine games cost him his job.

Carol Blazejowski, the Liberty's senior vice president and general manager, announced Saturday that Adubato had been fired and replaced on an interim basis by assistant Pat Coyle, a Philadelphia native and member of the Rutgers Basketball Hall of Fame. Assistant coach Jeff House was also let go.
