Just a few doors in on a street that begins at the Atlantic Ocean you'll find the Sandpiper Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast in the charming shore town of Spring Lake. Up the flower-lined path, the front door opens onto its sophisticated signature restaurant, Black Trumpet.
Our first visit, on a quiet weeknight, was a virtually perfect dining experience. The staff was welcoming and professional, immediately whisking away the wine we brought and seating us at a window table dressed with crisp linens, a small shaded oil lamp and a fresh rose.
