Calling welfare agencies "worthless toy poodles" instead of watchdogs, a judge on Friday sentenced a Wyckoff couple to five years in prison for leaving their toddler unattended in a bathtub.

Jack and Megan Manookian admitted in January that their 19-month- old son, Christian, drowned after they left him alone with his 5- year-old sister in May 2003. In exchange for their five-year sentences, the couple pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
