Summary


GARFIELD - The second extension on a bid to build a school has come and gone, as negotiations on the property continue between the Board of Education and the property owner.

The board had until Nov. 1 to buy the property at 98 Marsellus Place, which belongs to Church of the Most Holy Name, but disputes over the purchase agreement prevented the sale. The building currently houses 373 students who attend James Madison Elementary School 10. The church property would be demolished and a new building erected with funds provided by the state Schools Construction Corp.
