PASSAIC - Maria Vargas can count on one thing when she arrives to work at the Salvation Army thrift store in the morning: Donations will be ruined.

For the past three weeks, ransacking of bins at the Broadway store has gotten increasingly worse, Vargas said. With no video cameras and a parking lot that is kept open after hours, people have been helping themselves to the Salvation Army's donations. In the process, they are damaging items that could have otherwise been sold.
