Summary
A Dumont woman holding a female acquaintance captive in her sport utility vehicle led state police on a 150-mile, 3 1/2-hour chase before surrendering peacefully Saturday night, authorities said.
At around 7:30 p.m., state police received a 911 call from the female passenger who said she was being held against her will as Eleanor Valdenarro, 44, drove her Ford Explorer south on the New Jersey Turnpike in the Cranbury area. Valdenarro refused to pull over for two pursuing troopers and a helicopter trailing from above, telling police through a cellphone that she would crash the car if authorities interfered, said state police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Jones.See the full content of this document
