More than 300 North Jersey teenagers were ticketed for driving violations from packing a vehicle with too many friends to not wearing a seat belt to chatting on a cellphone during a three-week program aimed at making teens safer drivers.

The state Division of Highway Safety launched the "Don't Drive Stupid" campaign in Bergen County in April following a state Teen Driver Study Commission report that called for stiffer rules for teens holding graduated driver licenses.
