Celgene Reports $1.64 Billion Loss in First Quarter

Summary


SUMMIT Celgene Corp., maker of the cancer drug Revlimid, said Thursday it swung to a loss in the first quarter, hurt by research and development costs related to an acquisition.

The company reported a loss of $1.64 billion, or $3.98 a share, compared with net income of $57.4 million, or 14 cents, in the year- ago period.
