Q. I frequently see "sensible" suggestions in mags like Lucky about wearing lacy camisoles under your suit blazer. I just don't get it. I have daring clothes, but only for off duty. Is it just me, or is wearing a camisole to work a bad idea?

Wearing a camisole to work can be a good idea provided you have the right camisole. What to look for? Anything that doesn't say "lingerie." Silks, satins and other shiny and/or lacy fabrics belong in the bedroom. The same goes for come-hither hues (black, red) or pastels (baby pink, powder blue and cream). Avoid styles with that itty-bitty bow in the center or too many fussy, girly gewgaws. And do I even need to say it? no wildly plunging necklines.
