EAST RUTHERFORD - Darrelle Revis was quick to correct a rare misstep on the football field Wednesday afternoon, admitting on the last day of the Jets' off-season that he'd met with his coach for an hour-long air-clearing. Revis willingly explained his mini sick-out protest at minicamp Monday as an "out of character" moment he swore was not evidence he'd wavered from Rex Ryan's Super Bowl-or-bust mantra.

Revis didn't owe an apology for the root cause of his decision to pull himself from a few practice plays with a faux hamstring injury - - not after Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum opened the door to a pay raise for his best defensive player and Ryan repeatedly endorsed it with declarations of Revis' greatness. Instead, Revis' blindside of his ever-supportive coach required the day-after rehash and explanation. And Revis, eager to restore his well-earned reputation for class and dignity, gave it.
