Brodeur Deserves a Breather

Summary


Christmas came early for Martin Brodeur and the Devils when the future Hall of Famer posted his NHL record-breaking 104th career shutout in Monday's 4-0 win at Pittsburgh. Now with tonight's game in Washington beginning a difficult stretch in which the Devils play four games in six nights to close out 2009, it's the perfect time for them to get a head start on a resolution for the new year.

They need to finally cut back on Brodeur's workload. Not by a lot. Just enough to make sure he's fresh for what the Devils hope will be a long playoff run.
