DEMAREST -- The Borough Council has introduced a $7.9 million budget that falls just below the 2 percent state-mandated tax levy cap.
The council and finance committee held more than a half-dozen budget meetings to whittle down the tax levy to $139 below the 2 percent cap, sparing the municipality from having to schedule a referendum and seeking voter permission to exceed it.See the full content of this document
