BERGENFIELD -- More than two dozen families crowded into the Village Laundromat on South Washington Avenue on Wednesday night to take part in a free laundry service sponsored by a local church.

John Roca, a youth pastor at the Mercy Church of God, organized the Laundry Love Project, and brought along several teenage and parishioner volunteers, who fed quarters into the machines and folded clothing.
