Attorney Faces 4-Year Sentence After Admitting to Client Thefts

A Woodland Park attorney has pleaded guilty in state court to the theft of nearly $1 million in clients' funds, including a settlement that was supposed to go to a paraplegic accident victim he represented.

Carlo Coppa, 62, faces four years in state prison and will be disbarred for life when sentenced Sept. 14 by state Superior Court Assignment Judge Donald J. Volkert in Paterson.
