NEW YORK A white man convicted of using racial slurs while attacking a black man with a baseball bat was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison, after a judge described him as "brutal and vindictive" and his victim criticized him for not taking responsibility for his actions.

Nicholas Minucci, 20, had faced up to 25 years in prison after being convicted last month on a number of counts including assault as a hate crime for the 2005 attack on Glenn Moore in the Howard Beach section of Queens.
