WAYNE -- The superintendent of schools decided not to bar nine Wayne Hills High football players charged with aggravated assault from playing in Friday's playoff game, saying legal precedent forced his hand.

Michael Roth, interim schools superintendent, on Friday cited state case law in his decision not to prevent the Wayne Hills players from suiting up for Friday's North 1, Group 3 playoff game against Vernon.
