HAWTHORNE - Debra Shortway, a Republican candidate for a 35th District Assembly seat, has been in a coma following a diagnostic test on her pancreas and is scheduled to be taken off life support equipment today at Hackensack University Medical Center, her sister said Tuesday.
Shortway, 51, was admitted to the hospital with chronic pancreatitis two weeks ago, Shirley Shortway-English said. Her heart stopped beating during a medical test, and Shortway suffered brain damage, Shortway-English said.See the full content of this document
