Around the Leagues

Paramus: Once again, the Spartans will be one of the most talented teams in North Jersey. Senior shortstop Brittany Schillizzi is a hitting machine, while junior pitcher Allison Schraer has unlimited potential. If the pieces come together, the Spartans could be a serious contender for County and State titles.

Ridgewood: There is mystery surrounding the Maroons. They have a new coach, Patti Auger, who takes over for the legendary Debbie Paul. They need a new center fielder to replace Jackie Tyler and a new pitcher to take over for Julia Jacobs, but don't expect Ridgewood to drop very much. Senior catcher Jen Butler is the backbone of a solid core of returnees and this is one of the deepest programs in North Jersey.

Montclair: Senior Caitlin Bishop is in the circle for her third varsity season and has a chance to surpass Alison Tan as the all- time win leader at the school.
