Armed with Noise Complaints, City Takes On an Unpopular Bar

GARFIELD The City Council plans to pursue charges against a neighborhood bar after noise complaints by residents, including some who reported hearing gunfire last month, City Manager Thomas Duch said.

Council members say the owners of Envy Lounge mischaracterized the establishment calling it a family restaurant when they applied for a liquor license. Since the license was granted in March 2006, the bar has received more than 15 noise and loitering complaints.
