Speedy Carl Crawford put on a dazzling offensive show to support the pitching of Tim Corcoran on Wednesday, leading the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to a 5-2 victory over Boston, their third straight over the Red Sox in St. Petersburg, Fla. Crawford singled twice, drove in two runs and stole three bases including home in the fourth inning to became the eighth player in major league history with 200 steals before age 25.

Marlins Pile Up Runs On Nats

The Florida Marlins tied a franchise record with an eight-run inning in an 18-9 rout of the Nationals on Wednesday night in the highest scoring game ever played at Washington's RFK Stadium. The Marlins set season highs in runs (18) and hits (19), highlighted by a fifth inning in which 10 consecutive batters reached base and eight straight scored.

Playoff to Decide Clambake Winner

For the second straight week, rain Wednesday washed out the scheduled final round of the NJPGA Charity Clambake at Rockaway River Country Club in Denville. As a result the round was canceled with co-leaders Tom Sipula of Edgewood and Brooklake's Frank Esposito to meet in a playoff later this month.
